Our Role
We often hear, "we have to build a new web site", or "we need to launch a Facebook group, can you help us do that?"
The first mistake many people make is that they jump to the technology too quickly. The authors of Groundswell lay out a simple 4 step process in their book: POST (People - Objectives - Strategy - Technology). Notice we don't even talk about technology until the end of the planning process!
Remember that your web site, email communications and social media are TOOLS to help you achieve your goals. Think about your mission, programs, goals and organizational strategy first. Then Darim will help you think about how technology can help you achieve these goals quickly, efficiently, cost effectively.
Our consulting, training, development and knowledge sharing services are intended to help you develop a fluency in the most current tools, approaches and strategies. As the old Jewish parable says, we want to "teach you how to fish". Darim will help you articulate your goals, develop a thoughtful and manageable strategy, and coach you through the development and implementation of your new ideas. With experience from working with over 200 other Jewish organizations, we can bring the best practices from both the Jewish world and the broader non-profit community to inform your work.
Darim Online encourages our clients to form a team or committee for the project with representatives from key constituent groups, including (where applicable) administration, staff, clergy, lay leaders, parents and alumni. Including these diverse representatives will ensure that your web site and social media strategy is designed to serve each segment of your audience, and that key stakeholders feel invested in the project from the beginning.
As a client of Darim Online, you will be plugged into a network of organizations using technology in creative and successful ways. This group shares ideas, best practices and offers peer support as they integrate Internet tools into their marketing, communications, community building and programs. We welcome you to the Darim community.
